Born and raised in Samoa and New Zealand, Will Lafolafo brings a unique blend of cultural richness and athletic experience to his coaching. Having competed at a high level in professional sports and experienced the demands of elite setups, Will has cultivated a deep understanding of the nuances of performance, commitment, and balance.
Will’s journey as a coach began in Australia, where he honed his skills working with a diverse range of clients. Now based in London, UK, he continues to empower individuals from all walks of life. Whether it’s an athlete pushing their boundaries or an everyday person juggling long hours and family commitments, Will understands the unique challenges each individual faces.
His philosophy is simple yet profound: every person has their own set of skills, strengths, and aspirations. Before I started training with Will I struggled to consistently keep a training routine, I exercised sporadically in phases. Creativity - I never thought of improving rugby skills in a gym environment but I’ve been able to. Specific drills have been creative and applicable directly to the game. Most importantly they are enjoyable.
With the use of TrainHeroic app, Will always keeps track of my sessions and how I perform. We have regular catch-up to tailor my training depending on the phase I am in by being attentive to every detail.
Will has been a massive part of my growth and success within the sport I am practicing (Muay Thai). Seeing the improvements made over the year reinforces this feeling that I am in good hands and my goals will be met.
Although most of our work is now online, we started working together face to face and still have the odd session together which helps assess my needs and where to adjust moving forward.
Since working with Will not only has my progress and output in training increased but my sheer enjoyment in the process has evolved I’d even say he made me find the love again since taking a step back from professional/ semi-professional rugby I felt a bit lost in terms of balance and training but I feel with wills approach to training daily habits and all-round lifestyle I enjoyed my training got fulfilment and I’m constantly improving in my training performance and daily life balance has improved as I’m training at a high level but he’s enabling me to balance my busy life as well and I’m getting fulfilment from my training.
I started working with Will when I returned to Ireland from Australia after playing rugby there and suffering many injuries & I was feeling a bit lost in terms of my training and approach to training lifestyle habits and and general challenges. Will instilled in me to build a good foundation and hone in on the basics to forge a good daily process and this is what we have done we have simplified programmed well and made our goals clear and one thing with Will which makes him one of the best is it was never motivation it was stack days build habits and maximise discipline and this for me coming out of a full-on environment made me find the love for training again and made me find balance where I didn’t have it before.
Will is an outstanding coach who truly tailors each session to my needs and goals. His flexible scheduling ensures I never miss a workout, and he always finds way to accommodate my availability. He has a great balance of motivation and encouragement- pushing me just enough without ever making me feel overwhelmed. Thanks to his personalized approach, I always look forward to training and leave each session feeling accomplished. Highly reccomend.
